چکیده

The essential oils of plants the genus Piper have secondary metabolites that antimicrobial activity related to their chemical composition. objective our work was determine composition and evaluate antifungal aerial part oil P. auritum obtained by hydrodistillation on Fusarium oxysporum equiseti isolated from Capsicum chinense. evaluated direct contact poisoned food tests, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC50) maximum radial growth inhibition (MGI) were determined. identification carried out analysis in real time mass spectrometry (DART-MS). By contact, reached an over 40% spp. 8.4 mg/mL showed highest F. (40–60%) (>50%). MIC50 6 for FCHA-T7 9 FCHJ-T6 FCHE-T8. DART-MS [2M-H]? [M-H]? adducts high relative intensity mainly attributed eugenol thymol/p-cimen-8-ol. findings found this study show a fungistatic effect

Chemical Composition and Antifungal Activity of Trachyspermum copticum Essential Oil Against Alternaria alternata (In-Vitro Study)

Background: Alternaria alternata (AA) is a fungus that has wide range of plant host and can cause diseases in humans and produces a number of mycotoxins. Exposure to high numbers of AA spores can trigger severe asthma exacerbations. Resistance to antifungal drug has been shown in this species. Trachyspermum copticum (Ajowan) is an annual herbaceous essential oil )EO) bearing plant . The ripenin...

Antifungal activity of Piper diospyrifolium Kunth (Piperaceae) essential oil

In vitro activity of the essential oil from Piper diospyrifolium leaves was tested using disk diffusion techniques. The antifungal assay showed significant potencial antifungal activity: the oil was effective against several clinical fungal strains. The majority compounds in the essential oil were identified as sesquiterpenoids by GC-MS and GC-FID techniques.

Antifungal Activity of (KW)n or (RW)n Peptide against Fusarium solani and Fusarium oxysporum

The presence of lysine (Lys) or arginine (Arg) and tryptophan (Trp) are important for the antimicrobial effects of cationic peptides. Therefore, we designed and synthesized a series of antimicrobial peptides with various numbers of Lys (or Arg) and Trp repeats [(KW and RW)(n)-NH(2), where n equals 2, 3, 4, or 5]. Antifungal activities of these peptides increased with chain length. Light microsc...

Antifungal activity and computational study of constituents from Piper divaricatum essential oil against Fusarium infection in black pepper.

Fusarium disease causes considerable losses in the cultivation of Piper nigrum, the black pepper used in the culinary world. Brazil was the largest producer of black pepper, but in recent years has lost this hegemony, with a significant reduction in its production, due to the ravages produced by the Fusarium solani f. sp. piperis, the fungus which causes this disease. Scientific research seeks ...
